Graduated, Aberdeen University in 1989, and then completed specialist training in infectious diseases and general medicine in Dundee in 1999. Consultant physician and honorary senior lecturer in Infectious diseases and General Medicine in Glasgow since 2000. Established and lead the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Health Board OPAT service and leads the Antimicrobial Management Team and is chair of the NHS GGC Antimicrobial Committee. Clinical lead on infection management within the Scottish Antimicrobial Prescribing Group. Council member of the British Society of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy and Co-Chair of the BSAC OPAT standing committee.
