
Tumena graduated from St George’s Hospital Medical School in London in 2002 and trained in Infectious Diseases and General Internal Medicine in Cambridge. His PhD, awarded in 2012, focussed on HIV immunology. In 2015, he was appointed as a Consultant in Infectious Diseases and Acute Medicine at Northwick Park Hospital and is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Imperial College School of Medicine. He has a specialist interest in bone and joint infections, HIV and tuberculosis and is the clinical lead for OPAT.
