Alison is a clinical pharmacist, with over 30 years of hospital pharmacy practice in large teaching and district general hospitals. Clinical experience includes paediatrics and maternity, general medicine, psychiatry, general surgery and critical care. Since January 2008, she has been Area Antimicrobial Pharmacist for NHS Highland and is the professional secretary of the board Antimicrobial Management Team. A key aspect of her role is to develop and promote the antimicrobial stewardship programme across NHS Highland and she has been an integral part of the NHS Highland OPAT service since inception in 2012.
