Cristina Suarez, MBBS, MSc, PhD, MRCP, FRCPath.
St. Bartholomew’s Hospital is a tertiary reference centre for cardiovascular, thoracic disease, haematology and oncology. Our recently established service aims to deliver OPAT for a complex cohort of patients, who typically live far from us and often have infections complicating a baseline disease with poor prognosis. We network with other OPAT providers, co-ordinate care, liaise with the parent teams and aim to offer a flexible service to provide high level of care outside the hospital, but this comes with some challenges.

Outside of OPAT, my other interests include the management of complex infections, the use of structured data in predictive models and Chagas disease.
