Dr Achyut Guleri

Dr Achyut Guleri is a Consultant Clinical Microbiologist and Clinical Director of Laboratory Medicine at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, and Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Central Lancashire. He is also Lead Microbiologist for Lancashire Cardiac Centre, and strategic clinical lead for community/home IV therapy service (OPAT). His special interests include clinical mycology; patient safety; healthcare associated infections and antibiotic stewardship; quality, innovation, productivity and prevention (QIPP) and service development; transformational projects; and antibiotic resistance. Dr Guleri studied at the Medical School, University of Rajasthan in India. He remained in the faculty of the Department of Medical Microbiology at SMS Medical School & Hospital, Jaipur, India for 9 years before accepting a position as Head of Clinical Mycology, Dammam Central Hospital for Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia. In 2006, Dr Guleri joined Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
