Dr Alison Muir

Alison completed undergraduate training at the University of Cambridge medical school in 2005, having undertaken an intercalated PhD in reproductive immunology/virology. She worked as a junior doctor in East Anglia, New Zealand and Australia before specialty training in Medical Microbiology/Virology in the West Midlands. She has worked at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as a consultant since 2014 and is clinical lead for the OPAT service. Alison has been involved in developing the service to include home treatment in partnership with community teams. Alison also has interests in undergraduate education and post- surgical infections.
