Dr Balram Rathish

Balram completed his medical school and Core Medical training in India. He then started training in Infectious Diseases and Medical Virology in London and is currently a Registrar in Guy's and St.Thomas' NHS trust. Balram has worked in the OPAT clinic at Guy's hospital and as part of the anti-viral OPAT service in St. Thomas' hospital. He is interested in AMS, AMR, and Tropical infections and was highly commended for the Das Pillay Antimicrobial stewardship award and chosen as one of the 'ESCMID 30 under 30 young scientists in the world' in 2020 for his work in AMS and AMR. He continues to be involved in these fields along with close links to clinical and research units in India.
