Emma studied medicine at Cambridge University followed by Imperial College, London and then undertook her post-graduate training in Oxford, London and Cambridge. She worked on Staphylococcus aureus for her PhD at the Wellcome Trust Unit in Thailand. She has worked as a consultant for 8 years and her special interests are bone and joint infection, and patient self-administration of intravenous antibiotic therapy.
