Dr. Sime is an NHMRC Emerging Leadership Fellow at the University of Queensland Centre for Clinical Research. He holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy and Master of Science (Pharmacology) degree from Addis Ababa university, Ethiopia and a PhD in Pharmacy form the University of South Australia. His broader research involves the application of advanced in vitro infection model pharmacodynamics, clinical pharmacokinetics, and mathematical modelling for optimisation of antimicrobial therapy in special patient populations. He leads the in vitro infection model laboratory within the Antimicrobial Optimization Group at the UQ Centre for Clinical Research in Brisbane. He also leads a research program that aims to optimize outpatient parenteral antibiotic therapy to support hospital-in-the-home program.
