Dr Linda Dykes qualified in 1996. After training in the Northern and Mersey regions, she arrived in North Wales in 2005 to take up her first consultant post in Emergency Medicine in Ysbyty Gwynedd. Linda is also a qualified GP, making her an example of an extremely rare species, a truly Acute Generalist (she describes herself as a “Poorly Differentiated Doctor”!), happy to function both inside and outside the hospital.
Linda has been seconded to the Ambulatory Care Unit in Llandudno hospital since last October. Prior to this, she enjoyed stints working with the Anglesey MEC “Hospital at Home” Team, and in WAST’s Ambulance Control room, using secondments to develop her interest in “Interface medicine”, which has now almost replaced Mountain and SAR medicine as her clinical passion.
