Hannah Bolton: Hannah has been qualified for 7 years and initially once qualified was a staff nurse on a busy surgical ward with an 8 bedded nurse enhanced unit. She then went on to work in the community as a staff nurse where she was first introduced to OPAT. Hannah joined the team in York in January 2021 and has been a key player in the changes that are evolving daily within the service. Hannah cannulates and even if a patient only has days left of IV antibiotics but is medically and therapy fit they have gone home on OPAT to finish the course often this has involved weekend working. Hannah constantly looks at innovative ways of delivering the service and is passionate about empowering patients in self-administration or whatever delivery mode works for the patient and puts the patient at the centre of their individual journey.
