Helen Green has been the Paediatric ID & Outpatient Parenteral Antibiotic Therapy (pOPAT) Advanced Clinical Practitioner at Southampton Children’s Hospital since 2012. Having graduated from Southampton University in 2004 and after 8 years of experience across general paediatric medicine, surgery, orthopaedics and high dependency she joined the children's Infectious Diseases team to set up the Paediatric OPAT and AMS service with Consultant Sanjay Patel and the nurse-led paediatric PICC service with PICU Consultant Gareth Jones. Since 2012, the children’s ID, OPAT and IV access service has expanded considerably with the opening of the acute nurse-led ambulatory clinic in 2017, and the addition of another Consultant and 3 more trainee advanced clinical practitioners.
