Kirsty has worked as a Consultant Clinical Scientist in Clinical Microbiology since 2008, based at Manchester Foundation Trust and its many previous iterations. Kirsty trained primarily in Manchester. She completed a 2 year microbiology and infectious disease fellowship at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa, USA, before returning home to take her FRCPath exam.
Kirsty has worked with the IV team on the Central site since its inception 9 years ago. She is passionate about the holistic side of OPAT. Focussing on getting patients home safely, improving the patient journey and working with palliative patients to ensure the best possible experience at that difficult time. The team has expanded in number, expanded its use of elastomerics, CoPAT, and complex tertiary stepdowns to the Greater Manchester and North West area.
Kirsty is interested in OPAT, stewardship, and critical care infections.
