I am a final year medical student currently studying at the University of Southampton. I have discovered a great interest in Infectious Disease as a specialty over the course of my degree, this first began during my year intercalating in microbiology at the University of Bristol where I did my dissertation, researching a novel antibiotic compound. As of this past academic year I have spent time and been assisting in research with the Paediatric Infectious Disease team at the University Hospital Southampton. This has inspired me to pursue a potential future role in this specialty with a focus on research.
