Dr. Monica Mahoney received her PharmD degree from MCPHS-University in Boston, MA. She completed PGY1 and PGY2 training in infectious diseases at Tufts Medical Center, in Boston, MA. Since 2009, she has been employed as an infectious diseases pharmacist at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA. For the past 3 years she has been involved with the BIDMC OPAT program. Dr. Mahoney is a member of several national pharmacy and infectious diseases organizations, including ASHP, ACCP, IDSA, SHEA, and SIDP. She is a fellow of ACCP, IDSA, and SIDP. She is also currently serving as the president of the Massachusetts Society of Health-System Pharmacists. Dr. Mahoney is an associate editor at OFID, a section editor at Contagion Live, and on the editorial advisory board for ASHE and Annals of Pharmacotherapy. In her spare time, she coordinates monthly discussions among OPAT pharmacists across the US.
