Winifred Magambo-Gasana, RN, MSc is Lead Nurse for Vascular Access and OPAT services at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust, UK. With over 25 years of clinical and leadership experience, she is a recognised expert in OPAT, vascular access, nutrition support, IV therapy, and service innovation.
Throughout her career, Winifred has championed the development of integrated, patient-centred services that improve outcomes while enhancing quality, safety, and efficiency. Her achievements include pioneering the Wales Home Parenteral Nutrition Network (WHPN), a collaborative model that transformed access to specialist nutrition support and strengthened care pathways across Wales.
Beyond her clinical leadership role, Winifred is actively engaged in global health partnerships, professional mentorship, and diaspora leadership initiatives which she’s passionate about. She works across international networks to support workforce development, strengthen nursing leadership, and foster collaboration between healthcare professionals, institutions, and communities across Africa, the United Kingdom, and beyond.
